Toronto Raptors announce Norman Powell is out indefinitely with a shoulder injury

Powell suffered an injury to his left shoulder in Toronto's Monday night tussle with the Utah Jazz.

The new-look Toronto Raptors are off to a tremendous start this season.

Thirteen seconds into the game, Powell checked out.

The Raptors announced via press release that there is no timetable for his return, but that Powell would be out indefinitely.

Toronto Raptors shooting guard Normal Powell is expected to be out four to six weeks with a left shoulder injury.

With Powell sidelined, the Raptors' bench takes a significant hit.

Powell is averaging 5.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game this season.

In addition to Powell, Kawhi Leonard (foot), Fred Van Vleet (toe) and Delon Wright (groin) have missed time due to injury.

"He hurt his shoulder, obviously, and it's gonna be a while", Nurse told reporters at shootaround before a game at Sacramento on Wednesday night. Despite that, Toronto is tied with the Golden State Warriors for the NBA's best record at 10-1.
