Namely, St. Augustine's Alligator Farm Zoological Park in, yes, Florida.
As you can imagine, the crocs were not happy.
Brandon Hatfield allegedly jumped a fence at St. Augustine Alligator Farm on Tuesday night and spent about four hours inside a crocodile pen before being attacked by a 12-foot reptile, CBS News reported. Officers say he was seen climbing into the Nile Crocodile enclosure and then jumping into the pool with the reptiles.
Mr Hatfield, who was already facing burglary and damaging property/criminal mischief charges, then chose to dive into a pond filled with crocodiles. He was hospitalized and faces a vandalism charge. The man told officers he had been bitten by an alligator.
The crocodiles were not hurt.
Hatfield was located nearby after a neighbor called 911 to report a man wearing only gym shorts crawling on the ground.
Authorities say Hatfield caused about $5,000 in damage at the 125-year-old zoo. Then came a call from the Alligator Farm reporting some serious vandalism, she said. Security video shows one of the crocodiles biting the man on the leg. Officials said he will be transported to the St. John's County jail after he is released. Records don't list an attorney for him.
It was not clear on Wednesday evening whether Hatfield had retained an attorney, and attempts to reach Hatfield were unsuccessful.
