For example, Chris Evans initially signed a six-picture deal that included not only his Captain America films (Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: Winter Soldier, and Captain America: Civil War) but also his appearances in the Avengers films (Marvel's Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Avengers: Infinity War).
Johansson, who became a certified action star with her lead role in Luc Besson's Lucy, has appeared as the fan-favorite Natasha Romanoff in five Marvel Studios films.
While Johansson does have some seniority in the MCU, Marvel usually doesn't give huge paydays for first solo films. We can safely assume that two of those will be more Captain Marvel movies, giving the character a trilogy like Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor, but that still leaves three unknown pictures on the contract. While Downey raked in about $50 million, with bonuses and back-end compensation, for 2012's The Avengers, Johansson and the other stars earned "low-seven figure" salaries. Chadwick Boseman earned $2 million for Black Panther, which is expected to go up for the sequel.
We haven't yet met Brie Larson's Carol Danvers, but we can expect to see a lot of the character over the next few years, as it's been revealed the actress has signed a huge seven-picture deal with Marvel Studios. The only female founding member of the Avengers in the MCU took home $40 million in the previous year, and it looks like she'll keep piling on the big bucks. Also, random quick piece of trivia: all these actors added around $100 million to Avengers: Infinity War's budget - good thing that movie cracked $2 billion at the box office, right?
A spokesperson for Marvel has denied the numbers for ScarJo, however.
THR reports that a Marvel Studios spokesman responded to their request for comment saying "Marvel Studios disputes the accuracy of these numbers, and as a matter of policy, we never publicly disclose salaries or deal terms".
