Kavanaugh accuser Ford agrees to testify Thursday; 2nd accuser steps forward

Brett Kavanaugh Accused of Sexual Misconduct By a Second Woman - Hit & Run : Reason.com

Second woman makes allegation against Kavanaugh

Rep. Steve King fiercely defended Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh over the weekend at an Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition event, saying that accusations that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted a woman who went to high school with him amounted to "character assassination".

The new accusation landed late Sunday in a report from The New Yorker, just a few hours after negotiators had reached an agreement to hold an extraordinary public hearing Thursday for Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford, who accuses him of sexually assaulting her at a party when they were teenagers. "A false allegation?" King said. "How can you disprove something like that?"

Vice President Mike Pence calls Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh "a man of integrity with impeccable credentials".

Kavanaugh could try to indirectly address the Ramirez allegation in the Ford hearing by answering questions about his partying habits and sexual proclivities in a way that gets across he didn't expose himself to Ford.

The "Stop Kavanaugh" Denver protesters say they believe Boulder woman's claim regarding alleged sexual abuse by the Supreme Court nominee. Ford had written a letter to a California lawmaker about the claim months ago that was passed to Feinstein, but had requested anonymity, and Feinstein said she was trying to honor that.

Both the White House and Kavanaugh quickly denied the allegation.

Conway said: "Are we going to put decades of pent-up demand for women to feel whole on one man's shoulders?"

Whelan apologized for publicly naming Kavanaugh's former classmate and suggesting he may have assaulted Ford. They include Kavanaugh's friend, Mike Judge, who Ford says was in the room when the alleged sexual attack occurred. "After six days of carefully assessing her memories and consulting with her attorney, Ramirez said that she felt confident enough of her recollections to say that she remembers Kavanaugh had exposed himself at a drunken dormitory party".

White House spokesperson Kerri Kupec told Fox News: "This 35-year-old, uncorroborated claim is the latest in a coordinated smear campaign by the Democrats created to tear down a good man".

Judge Brett Kavanaugh listens during his US Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing to be an Associate Justice on the US Supreme Court, on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, September 4, 2018. The accuser, Deborah Ramirez, recalled with some difficulty a night in the early 1980s when she claimed Kavanaugh exposed himself to her and forced her into nonconsensual sexual contact short. "I remember a penis being in front of my face", she told the magazine. The two of them are tentatively scheduled to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday.

Still, the White House and Republicans have cast doubt on Ford's allegations.

"I have spoken with my chief of detectives, and neither of us have any knowledge of anyone coming forward to us to report any allegations involving Judge Kavanaugh", police Chief J. Thomas Manger told the Washington Examiner in an email.

Beyond his ascension into the highest court in the U.S., questions have come up about Kavanaugh's current employment.
