Some high-definition versions of classic "Final Fantasy" titles are coming to Nintendo Switch next year, Nintendo revealed during a Direct on Thursday. Unbeknownst to Noctis, however, the journey ahead is fraught with perils...

These join previously-announced projects Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition and the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles HD remaster.

Watch the launch trailer below. This version will allow you to "befriend all the monsters", as well as play co-op with a buddy. When it was leaked (and then confirmed) that the Switch was getting the adorable mobile phone version of the game, Final Fantasy fans shrugged with approval - at least it was something. This is a historical announcement for a number of reasons, including the fact that this is the first time that Final Fantasy 7 is releasing on a home console that is not a PlayStation system. Also, in 2019, Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy X and X-2, and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age will all also be arriving on the platform. It is now available on PlayStation 4. The game offers the entire story of the Final Fantasy XV game. World of Final Fantasy originally launched for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in October 2016, and for PC in November 2017.
