Ariana Grande's brother breaks silence on Mac Miller's death

MAC MILLER

GETTY SOBRIETY Mac helped Frankie with his journey to sobriety

In the wake of his shock death, Grande took to Instagram to pay a tribute to him, posting a simple black and white photo of the rapper with no caption. At the time of his death, Mac seemed to be getting his life together, but he'd had a rough few months.

"He was a good friend and wonderful to my sister. He was the reason I went to the rehabilitation centre where I was detoxed safely from all of the drugs and alcohol and medications I was taking".

"I'm so mad, I'm so sad I don't know what to do".

"How absurd that you minimize female self-respect and self-worth by saying someone should stay in a toxic relationship because he wrote an album about them", she wrote, noting that only one song on Miller's "Divine Feminine" was directly about her".

"Malcolm my friend, you will be dearly missed". I can't believe you aren't here anymore.

"453 days and counting". Ariana and him were together, very much in love and I have to say she was incredible when he was first sobering up. The message comes accompanied by a brief video of her filming him while the two of them are laughing. Thank you for your prayers.

After floods of negative comments hit Ariana's Instagram, his friends spoke out to tell fans that he would be hurt to see people blaming Ariana.

Back in May, Miller and Grande's romantic relationship dissolved after two years.

The singer added that she would continue to "pray" for Mac to get through his sobriety.
