Logitech's MX Vertical mouse wants to shake hands

Logitech MX Vertical

Logitech releases vertical mouse in MX series

The MX Vertical is touted to reduce muscular activity by up to 10 percent compared to a standard mouse without any loss in overall performance. "That's why we decided to make our first, vertical ergonomic mouse solution", Logitech explains. The peripheral maker developed a new mouse that it says i the most advanced ergonomic rodent on the planet, the MX Vertical.

You can now get Logitech's flagship mobile mouse MX Anywhere 2S for just $49.99. Also, there is a 4,000 DPI high-precision sensor that helps reduce hand movements and fatigue.

MX VERTICAL is priced at $99.99 and expected to be available at select retail stores in September, with pre-orders available on Logitech website, beginning August 20.

With a look that's reminiscent of an ammonite, the Logitech MX Vertical is certainly distinctive, but the unusual design is all about reducing discomfort. Logitech claims that the mouse was both tested and approved by "ergonomists". The computer mouse hasn't changed all that much since it was invented in 1964, with niceties like wireless communication and optical sensors - plus endless buttons for the gamers - the only real improvements.

Logitech reckons the mouse will fit a variety of hand shapes and sizes, but we'd have thought there will surely be some users who the mouse isn't so comfortable for, while we'd question how effective it will be for gaming. It's Bluetooth-compatible, too, and has a battery which can last for up to four months on a single charge.

Available in any color you want, so long as that color is black, the MX Vertical has been created to eliminate wrist pain by enabling you to use it with what Logitech says is "a natural handshake position".
