Jiaxing Dou, challenged by Rasheedat Ajibade, struck into her own net in the last minute of the Group D game, to give the Super Falconets the point they needed to qualify.

An own goal in stoppage time by China PR, gave Nigeria a highly-dramatic 1-1 draw in Dinan-Lehon, with the West Africans claiming a spot in the quarter-finals from Group D at the Federation Internationale de Football Association U-20 Women's World Cup France 2018. The last group match, which took place at the Stade du Clos Gastel in Dinan-Lehon yesterday saw the Chinise looking the more risky side in the first half. Meanwhile, the Falconets will on Thursday take on Spain in the battle for the semifinal ticket.

However, with seconds left to play, substitute Aishat Bello's unsafe cross from the right had captain Rasheedat Ajibade challenging for the ball with China right-back Jiaxing Dou. The goal sparked celebrations from the West Africans at the full-time whistle.

But a fine finish from the FC Robo Queens star player ensured the Christopher Danjuma's side salvage a point they needed to avoid crashing out early in the tourney. Two of the powerhouses in women's football, US and Brazil, could not make it from the group stage. While Brazil finished last in Group B with just one point, US was third in Group C with four points.

Nigeria thus advanced on four points; same as the Chinese but with a superior goals difference after losing their opening game to Germany 1-0 before a hard-fought 1-0 win over Haiti on Thursday.
