Aretha Franklin is in hospice care

Her family is simply asking for prayers.

The Queen of Soul canceled planned concerts earlier this year after she was ordered by her doctor to stay off the road and rest up.

He also shared several Twitter messages from Franklin's celebrity fans reacting to the icon's health battle. Her final public performance was in Philadelphia in August 2017.

I Knew You Were Waiting For Me, a duet she sang with the late British singer George Michael, was one of her Grammy-winning hits. 18 Grammys and the first woman to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

After performing their first song during a stop on their On The Run II Tour at Ford Field in Detroit - the same city in which Franklin is reportedly surrounded by loved ones as she struggles with an unspecified ailment - Beyonce reportedly told the cheering crowd, "This show is dedicated to Aretha Franklin".

Abdul "Duke" Fakir, the lone surviving original member of the Four Tops, told the AP on Monday morning they have been "very close" for decades and their most recent conversation was about a week ago by phone.

Wrote "Level Up" singer Ciara: "Praying for Aretha Franklin and her family right now!" In 1994, at age 52, she became the youngest at that time to receive a Kennedy Center Honor.

News that the 76-year-old Franklin is gravely ill has spread all over the world.

The Associated Press reported Tuesday that Franklin was "seriously ill", according to a source.

Franklin's last album, "A Brand New Me", released in 2017, remixed her vintage vocals with newly recorded arrangements. "She has influenced so many people", said Shirley Marks Whitmore, a founding producer of the show, which is put on at Miller Outdoor Theater in Hermann Park every spring.
