Nintendo and the The Pokemon Company recently released a Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee trailer that focusses on the various locations and activities beyond choosing your partner Pokemon, namely Vermillion city and the S.S. Anne. CoroCoro magazine reveal has turned this speculation into reality. Mega Evolution, known as "the Evolution that transcends Evolution", momentarily unleashes the energy within a Pokemon and can only be accomplished when a strong bond exists between the Pokemon and its Trainer. There is not a whole lot of details about how this will work but it is believed that players will need to have a Mega Stone that matches the Pokemon type to make it Mega Evolve once per battle.
There's no word on if other Pokemon in the game will receive Mega Evolutions that haven't before, but the CoroCoro scans did show off the Vermilion City gym leader Lt. Surge alongside his classic Raichu.
The issue shows Mega Blastoise, Mega Venasaur, Mega Charizard X, and Mega Charizard Y. The mechanic will operate the same with a stone required for each Pokemon and only available to 1 Pokemon per battle. Of these features, one of the most exciting has to be the return of Mega Evolution.
Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee will be available for the Nintendo Switch on November 16.
Team Rocket's infamous Jessie and James also briefly appear in the trailer, challenging the player to a double battle using their signature Pokemon, Ekans and Koffing.
