Cristiano Ronaldo opens the scoring as Juventus win on his debut

GETTY Cristiano Ronaldo has told Juventus top brass who he wants the club to sign

Ronaldo scored 450 goals in nine scintillating years at Real Madrid but now embarks on a new challenge in Italy at the age of 33.

Members of the industrial dynasty - founders of Fiat vehicle manufacturers and often called the "Italian Kennedys" - have lived at "The Castle" in Villar Perosa since the 19th century, while deceased former club chairman Gianni Agnelli was town mayor between 1945 and 1980.

Such is the enthusiasm for Ronaldo's debut, that special security measures have been drafted in the town for the match, including a complete ban on the sale of alcohol from Saturday.

Although Ronaldo stated there was no specific moment that made his choice for him, he did reiterate his appreciation for Juve's fans after they applauded his overhead kick in Turin last season.

The town's bars and restaurants were heaving with fans and media hours before the match's 1700 (1500 GMT kick off), with fans in replica kits wrapped in scarves and flags arriving to see the five-times Ballon d'Or victor take part in one of Italian football's most curious traditions.

Ronaldo could be set to make his competitive debut for Juventus next week when the Serie A gets underway.

Leonardo Bonucci, who returned to Juve two weeks ago after one season at AC Milan, and Emre Can, who moved from Liverpool, both started the game, with Mario Mandzukic, Sami Khedira and Miralem Pjanic available off the bench.

Goalscorers score goals and nothing has changed for Cristiano Ronaldo, who is off the mark in Italy.

"With the arrival of Ronaldo our expectations are higher for the Champions League".

Ronaldo joined the Turin club from Real Madrid earlier this summer.
