Brad Pitt says he has given Angelina Jolie millions since split

Brad Pitt Says He Gave Angelina Jolie $9 Million Since Split

Brad Pitt claims he's paid Angelina Jolie more than $9M since split

Jolie cited "irreconcilable differences" when she filed to end the marriage, and the pair became embroiled in a bitter child custody dispute in the months following the announcement.

Brad Pitt's attorney has slammed Angelina Jolie for trying to "manipulate" the media with her "meaningful" child support request, insisting the actor has given her more than $9 million in two years.

"Following the incident of September 2016, Angelina and the children needed to move from the family home, which Brad chose to keep, including all of its contents", DeJean said in a statement obtained by ET Canada.

This latest public row in their divorce proceedings comes after Jolie's claim in court documents on Tuesday that Pitt has not paid adequate child support. Brad was asked to assist in the expense of a new home for Angelina and the children, but instead he loaned Angelina money, for which he is charging her interest on a payment plan. "Angelina will of course honour that loan. As of present, [Pitt] has paid no meaningful child support since separation".

'Angelina is asking Brad to pay 50 percent of the children's expenses. Child support is not optional in California, ' the statement on Jolie's behalf went on.

The marriage was Pitt's second, having previously Wednesday Friends star Jennifer Aniston, and Jolie's third after actors Billy Bob Thornton and Jonny Lee Miller.

"Brad felt like he actually had a say and that the court was seeing his side of things", a source added.

'She didn't work for a year and a half to be with the kids and is only working to pay off the house as he kept the family home, ' the source alleged.

The incident was reported and Pitt was investigated by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, but was later cleared of wrongdoing.

Jolie was granted primary custody of 17-year-old Maddox, 14-year-old Pax, 13-year-old Zahara, 12-year-old Shiloh, and 10-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne as part of a December, 2016 agreement.

Separate sources told Page Sixthat theWorld War Z star has spent "millions for therapists" for their brood, as well as forked out for their travel expenses and round-the-clock bodyguards.

'The divorce case has been held in front of a private judge to keep it out of the press, ' one friend told the gossip site.
