Beef Between Cam Newton And Kelvin Benjamin Seems to Have Escalated

Carolina Panthers: Top players to watch against Buffalo Bills

The Carolina Panthers are kicking off their preseason with a visit to the Buffalo Bills, a game that reunited Benjamin, the former Panthers receiver now playing in Buffalo, with his old quarterback in Newton.

Benjamin had plenty to say in an interview that came out last Saturday, calling his tenure in Carolina a "bad fit from the get-go" and speculating he might have been more successful had he played with "any other quarterback".

In the video below, it shows Newton going to shake Kelvin Benjamin's hand and Benjamin refusing. "It just felt like I wasn't in that position".

Benjamin also reiterated after the Bills' 28-23 loss to the Panthers that he was "moving on" from critical comments he made last week to The Athletic in which Benjamin said he would have been better off the first three and a half years of his career had he been with a quarterback with better accuracy and "knowledge" of the game than Newton.

"I ain't gonna go back and forth with him, I'm just gonna work", Newton said. I don't know, man ... "I should've never went to Carolina". Newton followed, trying to catch up, before seeming to give up.

Things likely won't get much better for Benjamin in Buffalo, as he'll be catching passes from either A.J. McCarron, Josh Allen or Nathan Peterman.
