Well, latest news on the block regarding the magnum-opus is that Dharma Productions and Karan Johar himself has revealed the title and the starry cast of the much awaited film.
With the cast of the film in the bandwagon and the screen play of the film locked, the Karan Johar directorial Takht is expected to go on floors in April next year. The Dharma Productions project boasts of a top-line ensemble, including Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar and Anil Kapoor. Karan's will be helming a full-length feature film after a gap of two years. A story of a family, of ambition, of greed, of betrayal, of love & of succession.TAKHT is about WAR for LOVE. He wrote, "An incredible story embedded in history.An epic battle for the majestic Mughal throne". Earlier today, Johar took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to announce his next directorial venture with its very first poster. He last helmed Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai and Anushka Sharma starrer Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. In his next tweet, the filmmaker revealed the cast of his film. "#TAKHT", read a tweet on his Twitter handle.
Meanwhile, Karan Johar's protege Alia Bhatt also shared the big news on social media.
Ranveer, who has previously starred in historicals like Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat, says he is "Proud, excited and honoured to be a part of Karan Johar's multi-starrer historical magnum opus".
It's not every day that you get to see Ranveer, Kareena, Alia and Janhvi in one frame, but when you have Bollywood's most popular director making a film, everything falls in place.
"TAKHT" will release in 2020.
