Many fans were originally shocked when the initial Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee! announcement trailer was released.
As in previous Pokemon RPGs, Let's Go, Pikachu and Let's Go, Eevee will each feature a handful of exclusive Pokemon that can not normally be obtained in the other game. Let's Go Pikachu will have Oddish, Sandshrew, and Growlithe and a few others exclusively, while Let's Go Eevee will contain Bellsprout, Vulpix, Meowth, and a few others all to itself. To some, it seemed like a "simplified" version of the games they had come to know and love. We'll also be able to trade with other people both locally and online. That's primarily Pikachu or Eevee, both of which can be either male or female and can be customized with adorable outfits.
It was also revealed in the trailer that we'll be able to battle a bunch of familiar leaders such as Brock and Misty.
