They will attend a commemorative service, followed by a flypast including up to 100 aircraft.

Prince William formerly served as an RAF search-and-rescue pilot, while Prince Harry received helicopter training from the RAF during his time in the Army Air Corps. William was the fourth successive generation of the monarchy to become an RAF pilot.

The visit is their first trip overseas as a married couple, following their wedding in May. They will go on to a garden party at the Glencairn House - the United Kingdom embassy in Dublin.

According to Kensington Palace, "They are looking forward to learning more about Ireland's history and experiencing its rich culture, as well as meeting the people who are shaping the country's future".
