George Clooney Injured in Scooter Accident in Italy

Hollywood superstar George Clooney was treated in hospital on Tuesday (July 10) for minor injuries after a scooter accident in Sardinia, Italian media reported.

He was taken to John Paul II hospital in Olbia, Italy, for his injuries, but according to NBC News, has already been discharged.

The film star smashed the windshield with his head and flew 30 feet from the auto, Avlon said Clooney relayed to him.

"He was treated and released from an Olbia hospital".

La Nuova Sardegna says Clooney was knocked off his bike by a vehicle and sustained minor injuries. He is recovering at home and will be fine, ' one rep told E!

Earlier that month George was seen driving around the island on a scooter with Amal clinging on tightly behind him. He reportedly received an MRI at the hospital, according to People.

Clooney broke a rib in a motorcycle accident in New Jersey in 2008, while his then-girlfriend Sarah Larson suffered a broken foot.

Pictures from the scene of the accident showed what appeared to be George's damaged motorbike next to the blue Mercedes.

Clooney is in Italy (aside from the fact that he famously has a home in Lake Como) to shoot a Hulu series in Sardinia. He has been married to Amal Clooney since September 24, 2014.
