Mahrez set to join Man City for £60m

Riyad Mahrez will finally complete his £60m record move to Manchester City this week, after it emerged he is not attending Leicester's training camp in France.

According to a UK Daily Mail report, Manchester City have failed in two previous attempt to land the Algeria worldwide, it now seems the former Premier League victor will be leaving the King Power Stadium for the Etihad this summer.

Mahrez handed in a transfer request but stayed at the club, scoring 12 league goals in 36 games as the Foxes finished ninth in the Premier League.

Riyad leaves with the best wishes of everybody who has worked with him at Leicester City Football Club.

The 27-year-old Algerian is the Blues' first signing since they won the Premier League title.

"Watching them from afar has been a pleasure".

With his quality on the ball, ability to take on opposition players and his extensive passing range, the youngster would soon make himself hugely popular among the King Power Stadium faithful.

"I think we can be successful over the coming years and I believe my own game can develop under Pep's management". "He beats defenders and creates space", he said.

Mahrez's experience of winning the Premier League will certainly have left him hungry for more success, and he now has the chance to achieve that once more under the stewardship of Pep Guardiola.

"In the four and a half years since Riyad signed for the Foxes, he has played his way into the hearts of all Leicester City supporters", a statement read.
