George Clooney reported hurt in motorcycle crash in Italy

Actor George Clooney arrives at the American Film Institute's 46th Life Achievement Award Gala Tribute to George Clooney

George Clooney 'has been injured in a bike accident in Sardinia'

Local daily La Nuova Sardegna said Clooney's injuries were not serious, but he was taken to the John Paul II hospital emergency room.

Italian authorities confirm to ET that the 57-year-old actor was involved in a traffic collision while riding his scooter near Olbia, Italy, on Tuesday morning.

They claim that he injured his pelvis in the smash, but after being x-rayed was sent home.

A photo from the Italian website La Nuova showed the car's windshield cracked.

According to the site, George was said to be hit by a auto which suddenly changed direction at a spot close to a hotel.

A fire extinguisher can be seen on the road but no people from the accident were involved.

Clooney relocated his family to Sardinia, the second largest Island in the Mediterranean Sea, so he could film TV miniseries Catch 22, according to The Sun. The car's driver assisted George after the crash and reportedly called an ambulance, according to NBC.

This is a developing story and will be updated when more information becomes available.

It was announced in April that the multi-talented star was reducing his role in the Hulu production so he could concentrate on his directing and producing credits.
