George Clooney involved in motorbike accident in Italy, reports say

Actor George Clooney was taken to the hospital in Sardinia and released after being involved in an accident while riding his motorcycle, hospital officials said.

The US actor, 57, was said to be riding his motorbike at Costa Corallina, Puntaldia, when he collided with a Mercedes vehicle on Tuesday morning, according to TGR Rai Sardegna.

Italian paper La Nuova reported that he was rushed to the emergency room at John Paul II Hospital, but he is not believed to be seriously hurt.

Hollywood star George Clooney has been injured in a collision involving his scooter and a auto.

A picture from La Nuova suggests that Clooney hit a auto while on the motorway.

A fire extinguisher can be seen on the road but no people are visible.

The couple had previously been enjoying their European trip alongside George's parents Nina and Nick Clooney, as well as Amal's mother Baria Alamuddin. He has been in Sardinia since mid May, shooting TV series Catch 22, which he is directing and in which he also stars, alongside Hugh Laurie, Kyle Chandler and Christopher Abbott.

They met when she attended one of his parties at his Lake Como mansion, and Wednesday in Venice a year later. The series is being produced for Hulu.

Italy is an important place for Amal and George.
