The major reason for film's dismal business can be credited to extremely negative reviews and bad word of mouth from movie watching audience including Salman Khan fans.
Race 3 has joined the likes of other Indian box office disasters like Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag, 2 Sajid Khan films, Himmatwala and Humshakals, Tusshar Kapoor's Kya Kool Hain Hum 3, Farah Khan's Tees Maar Khan and Abhishek Bachchan's superhero failure Drona.
After a rather tiresome performance at the box office on its second Friday, Salman Khan-starrer Race 3 showed good growth on its second Saturday.
The film, directed by Remo D'Souza, released eight days late in Pakistan after the government imposed a ban on the screening of Indian films two days before and one week after the Eid holiday period.
Eid holidays were celebrated in Pakistan from June 15 to 18.
Javed Sheikh's Wajood, another big star release on Eid, also managed a total collection of just 2.55 crore in a week's time.
Race 3 grossed a little under Rs 250 crore globally in its first week which is around Rs 6-7 crore less than Salman Khan's Eid release of 2014, Kick. Even though it started screening with a few midnight shows at some cineplexes in Karachi and Lahore on Friday. Also, despite the fact that it had lesser number of screens than Avengers: Infinity War, it made better collections than Avengers. The high octane action flick which had raked in Rs 139.97 crore in its first week at the box office, breaking several records in its journey, has continued its impressive run in the second week too.
