Sarah Hyland Reveals She's Been Hospitalized With A 'Painful, Swollen' Face

At the time of this writing, the reason for Hyland's recent trip to the hospital is now unknown.

Sarah revealed on June 21 that she was sent to the hospital via an Instagram post that showed her swollen face. "Health should always come first #stayhealthymyfriends".

Sarah suffers from kidney dysplasia, a condition that occurs when one or both of a fetus' kidneys do not develop normally, and has always been candid on social media about her health battles. 'It was scary but thankfully she is better and is home'.

"Modern Family" actress Sarah Hyland reveals she was hospitalized on June 18, though she didn't provide further details.

Taking to Twitter, she simply asked her 1.61million followers: 'For those who are chronically ill and in chronic pain: Have you had the experience of doctors not listening to you?

A source told People.com: 'Sarah had a scare and was hospitalised. This past Monday, Hyland shared that she was forced to be hospitalized after suffering complications from her debilitating kidney disease.

"Hey @cvspharmacy when you tell a kidney transplant recipient that her medication will be ready before you close and that you will notify her when it's ready to be picked up".

And on Saturday, Sarah Hyland was reportedly back at home in Los Angeles after five days in care.

'Sarah is looking forward to getting back to work next week'.

"Desperately waiting to get cleared so I can start lifting weights again", she wrote. She shared with fans that her dog was basically telling her to go to the doctor. Maybe one day I'll talk about it but for now, I'd like my privacy.

"This year has brought a lot of changes and with that, physical changes". My circumstances have put me in a place where I'm not in control of what my body looks like. "Or fat. Because I know that my face is swollen from my medication that is saving my life", she said. "So I strive to be as healthy as possible, as everyone should". Being strong has gotten me where I am.

A year ago she also revealed that her face is sometimes swollen from her life-saving medication, steroid Prednisone. "For those on Prednisone I know what you're going through and I commend you sticking it out as I have".
