England manager Gareth Southgate said he "didn't particularly like" his side's performance despite beating Panama 6-1 to secure qualification to the knockout stages of the World Cup.

All eyes will be on Harry Kane and England on Day 11 at the FIFA World Cup from Russian Federation. Their previous best was four, which they did on two occasions - a 4-4 draw in the group stages against Belgium in 1954, and the 4-2 win after extra time against Germany in the 1966 final at home.

England goes into the Group G finale against Belgium level on points and with the same goal difference after conceding a late goal against Panama, which was eliminated after two matches in its World Cup debut.

Stones opened the scoring in the eighth minute with a header.

Current World Cup top scorer on five goals after two games, Kane was then substituted for Jaime Vardy up front, to a standing ovation from the almost 2,500 England fans at Nizhny Novgorod.

John Stones headed in two goals and Jesse Lingard curled in another.

"First time in a long time since we've seen a hat-trick from England player in the World Cup, absolutely delighted for Harry and the team", tweeted Hurst.

Kane scored his second penalty of the match just before half-time before completing a hat-trick in the 62nd minute, deflecting home Ruben Loftus-Cheek's shot.

Southgate took issue with the media publishing the photograph and said journalists covering England must decide whether they want to help or hinder his team at this World Cup.

Southgate's task now will be to keep his young charges' feet on the ground, and guard against complacency whomever they face next from Group H's quartet of Japan, Senegal, Poland and Colombia.
