Black Ops 3 is a bonus free game on PlayStation Plus

As Sony was siphoning the guests at its freaky E3 2018 showcase from one venue to another last night, we learned that Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 would be available on the PlayStation Store free of charge for every PS Plus subscriber for the next month. What's even better is that this offer starts tonight (June 11, 2018).

Furthermore, fans who pre-order Black Ops 4 via the PlayStation Store will also receive the Back in Black Maps at release.

The other Call of Duty news (which was previously reported) is that the classic Slums, Jungle, Summit, and Firing Range maps will be remade for Black Ops 4.

What's more, the Black Ops Pass can't be bought on its own.

A: No. The contents included in Black Ops Pass may only be purchased as a bundle.

Q: Can I buy Black Ops Pass as a standalone product? .

This comes from a recent retail listing, that claims the beta will be hosted on PS4, Xbox One and PC during that month.

The Black Ops Pass for Black Ops 4 includes content for the game's three modes: Zombies, Multiplayer, and the battle royale mode Blackout. Smaller packs are no longer available for separate purchase. "It's a great way to dive into the Black Ops universe before Black Ops 4 launches on 12th October".

That puts a strain on players to buy higher editions of the game in order to get the content they want, especially if all they want is the standard edition along with the Black Ops pass. In America it seems you get a full digital version of the game as well.

UPDATE: Well that was quick, Activision have updated the FAQ to say that you will be able to buy the Season Pass.
