Two people in Nebraska were charged in the grisly murder of a 24-year-old woman who disappeared after a Tinder date, officials said.

Trail has previous convictions for theft and writing worthless checks in Kansas.

Aubrey Trail, 51, and Bailey Boswell, 23, appeared in Saline County Court to face the charges related to the killing of Sydney Loofe, 24. Investigators said Trail and Boswell were captured on video at a Home Depot in Lincoln on November 15 buying tools used to dismember Loofe, hours before her death and while she was still at work. Loofe's remains were found in several garbage bags east of Clay Center.

Bailey Boswell and her male roommate Aubrey Trial were filmed on CCTV at a Lincoln Home Depot in the hours before the young women's Tinder date, on November 15 previous year.

In late November, Trail and Boswell were arrested on unrelated fraud charges in Branson, Mo., and have remained in jail since then.

The couple are also charged with the improper disposal of skeletal remains.

Both Boswell and Trail denied any involvement in the 24-year-old's death, with Boswell claiming that after their date, she dropped Loofe off at a friend's house.

Police say the last time Loofe's phone was used was near a cellphone tower near Wilber in Saline County at about 8:31 p.m. on the 15th. She didn't come home either, so her mother reported her missing to the Lincoln Police Department.

He said: "It wasn't supposed to go to the extreme it went, of course not. It wasn't meant that she was to die", he told police.

They allege an extension cord was used to strangle the victim. And the purchase was made hours before Loofe's death, while she was still at work and unaware of the grisly fate that awaited her.

Prosecutors in the case include Saline County Attorney Tad Eickmann and special appointed prosecutors from the Nebraska Attorney General's Office, Michael Guinan and Corey O'Brien.

In the unsealed arrest affidavit, investigators said Trail and Boswell were captured on video at a Home Depot in Lincoln on November 15 buying tools used to dismember Loofe, hours before Loofe's death and while she was still at work. Loofe was found dead in December near Edgar, south-west of Omaha, about a month after she disappeared.

'A life for a life - that's the rules in my world.

Trail's home was searched on November 19, and they were publicly named as persons of interest - before releasing a video defending themselves on Facebook. "I should be put to death".
