Resident Evil 2 Remake Officially Revealed With New Trailer; Release Date Confirmed

Resident Evil 2 remake is third person and out January – trailer looks amazing

Resident Evil 2 remake – the return of Leon S. Kennedy

Sony showed off the remake of Resident Evil 2 during its Electronic Entertainment Event today in Los Angeles. Additionally, it seems like it will feature the same over the shoulder camera as Resident Evil 4.

In case you didn't already see in the reveal trailer, Resident Evil 2 is slated to release next year on January 25 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Or at least we assume we are, since when we made the appointments to see Capcom all their games were still a secret... Leon and Claire must work together to survive and uncover the cause of the outbreak. Will they make it out alive? The game was originally released on PlayStation 1 but has been remade with more cut scenes, more content, and extra story elements. Ultimately, it will be up to the fans to decide if they prefer the Resident Evil 2 remake's new direction, and they will be able to test the game on their platform of choice. We want fans to see the reimagining of Resident Evil 2 not only captures the magic of the beloved original, but also expands it to deliver a richer experience. With Capcom's proprietary RE Engine powering a new photorealistic style, the characters themselves appear sharper than ever and the grotesque hordes of zombies are brought to life with a horrifyingly realistic wet gore effect.

Iconic series defining gameplay - Engage in frenzied combat with enemies, explore dark menacing corridors, solve puzzles to access areas and collect and use items discovered around the environment in a terrifying constant fight for survival.

Like the original found on the first iteration of the PlayStation, players will have the option of choosing to play between Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield.
