Following a leak on Sunday, we now know that the game is indeed set in ancient Greece and based on the screenshots, Forbes writer Erik Kain appears to have narrowed down the exact time the game is set. While historical events will play out the same way they did historically, your personal story and other tales going on around you can go in different paths based on what you choose.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey (which sadly isn't a spin-off from Mario Odyssey) was leaked back on May 31st, all thanks to a promotional item: a Greek helmet keychain.
We'll be keeping you updated on everything as it happens.
Combat from Assassin's Creed Origins returns and is built upon for Odyssey.
Yesterday, Reddit user Frack-Reynolds noticed that Sony had accidentally dropped a description of Assassin's Creed Odyssey onto the PlayStation Store, revealing the protagonist is Spartan.
While Ubisoft placed a heavy emphasis on introducing the new elements of Odyssey, it's easy to see that some things will be staying the same from Origins, with one of the most obvious being the look and feel of the game. So what are we expecting? If you liked the naval gameplay on that game then you will like this one as well. Since we chose to free this character in the Socrates side quest, he appeared in the conclusion of the main quest-line, but straight up assassinated an important character during what was supposed to be a celebration. We also got a good look at the gameplay and various characters. Origins was known for its breathtakingly lovely recreation of ancient Egypt and Odyssey promises more of the same for Greece, but numerous locales seemed almost identical to places found in Origins.
Expect a full reveal very shortly.
