OnePlus 6 users should get a notification for OxygenOS

The OnePlus 3 was probably the best phone made by OnePlus at the time of its release. The latest OxygenOS 5.1.5 update reiterates all those changes - in case you didn't receive them with the OxygenOS 5.1.3 update. OnePlus too, jumped onto the bandwagon with the 5T with blazing fast face unlocking capabilities.

This is a feature first introduced on Android Nougat that lets users download and install Android updates in the background.

OnePlus confirmed the software update for both the OnePlus 3 & 3T via its official forums this week. First and foremost, it is worth noting that the update brings Android security patch for May 2018 to the two devices, and in addition to that, both devices are getting one major feature, "Face Unlock". Nw the company has started rolling out to all users. This update brings refined Shelf UI design, new app shortcuts design, displays more options when long pressed, etc. It also brings map view of photos by location and "Recently Deleted" collection.

It's another core feature ensuring that the OnePlus 6 delivers a stock Android-like experience. OnePlus has also improved positioning accuracy for weather, and the option to select the refresh interval for weather information update and adjust it to your preference. The "Large Files" category has been included in the File Manager, while a new widget has been added for weather.

To check for the OxygenOS 5.1.5 update manually, OnePlus 6 users need to click on the System Updates tab in the Settings menu. If you haven't received the update yet, we suggest waiting for a while as it is a phased roll-out.

The update begins rolling out now, so if you have a OnePlus 3 or OnePlus 3T you should get the new software soon.
