Today, I learned Josh Holt was enduring a riot situation in his Venezuelan jail.
Rep. Mia Love, a Republican representing Utah's Fourth District, issued a statement Wednesday afternoon confirming that the prison was threatened by riots and violence but that Holt is now safe.
"I've been begging my government for two years".
Trujillo declined to discuss how Holt was posting videos on his Facebook page, saying Holt's safety was in jeopardy and he didn't want to release any information that may harm him.

A short time later, he and his wife were arrested and accused of illegal possession of weapons.

He said authorities had fired weapons and tear gas but detainees were holding out to demand freedom.
The Trump administration has suggested there are political motives for Holt's continued detention. Holt denies the charges.

The people have taken the entire prison. In another, a shirtless youth runs down a narrow hallway and knocks out an overhead light with a long stick to shouts of encouragement by other inmates.
Senator Orrin Hatch has been working with the Trump Administration to bring Holt and his wife home.
Extra troops from the National Guard and Police are taking positions and maneuvering tactical vehicles outside the El Helicoide prison for political cases in Western Caracas Wednesday, as a riot is reportedly taking place inside.
"Joshua Holt and other U.S. citizens are in danger". The embassy tweeted that Venezuela's government is responsible for the safety of prisoners and will be held accountable if something happens.
