The Toronto Raptors created an awkward scene on social media Wednesday evening shortly after the National Basketball Association announced the finalists for its Coach of the Year Award.

But they seemed to have forgotten they fired Casey only five days earlier.

The NBA announced the finalists for its key awards Wednesday, and it unintentionally created the most awkward moment of the season.

Casey was sacked after the Cleveland Cavaliers swept Toronto out of the Eastern Conference semi-final for the second straight year.

That regular-season success wasn't enough for Casey to keep his job, though, and he was sacked after seven years on the job.

Casey has served as the Raptors head coach since 2011. Former Raptor Lou Williams is also under consideration after a successful season with the Los Angeles Clippers, as is Eric Gordon of the Houston Rockets.
