Pretty Little Liars the Perfectionists

Sasha Pieterse returns as Alison in tense trailer for Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists

"Pretty Little Liars" may have come to an end, but United States network Freeform isn't ready to give up on the world that brought us so much scandal just yet.

The series joins a scripted slate for Freeform that includes Siren, The Bold Type, Shadowhunters, Grown-ish, Alone Together, and Famous in Love, as well as the upcoming series finales of The Fosters and Young & Hungry.

No surprise here: Freeform has formally ordered its Pretty Little Liars spinoff to series. The pilot episode of "Perfectionists" was penned by "Liars" showrunner, I. Marlene King, who will also serve as executive producer on the series alongside Charlie Craig, Lisa Cochran-Neilan, Leslie Morgenstein, and Gina Girolamo.

The Perfectionist is set Beacon Heights - a seemingly flawless suburban town where a group of college students struggle with their "overachiever" status. Like its predecessor, "Pretty Little Liars", which was #1 on the New York Times bestseller list, "The Perfectionists" is also based on a popular book series penned by Sara Shepard. The series delves into the secrets, lies, and alibis that lie behind each Perfectionist's seemingly ideal veneer.

The series stars PLL alums Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish reprising their roles as Alison and Mona, respectively, along with Sofia Carson (Disney's Descendants) as Ava.

The trailer was released following the news that the Pretty Little Liars spin-off has been picked up for a full season.

PLL's first spin-off, Ravenswood, appeared on ABC Family, now Freeform, in 2013, and was cancelled after just one season. This is the second spinoff to come out of Pretty Little Liars.
