Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder are adorably awkward in Destination Wedding trailer

'Destination Wedding' Trailer Reunites Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves

90s fans, your prayers have been answered as Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder are finally starring in a rom-com together.

The Plot: Destination Wedding reunites two of Hollywood's most adored stars, Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder, as the socially awkward Frank and Lindsay.

Reeves shows off the grave cynicism he perfected for John Wick throughout the trailer, most perfectly in an exchange he shares with Ryder while they pair watch wedding guests dine in a wine cellar. That history shines through even in this brief trailer.

Destination Wedding has just released what could be the best romantic comedy trailer to come along in years. And as a filmmaker, I have the benefit of their having known each other for so long.

Director Victor Levin recently told People that the pair have "superb natural chemistry", which this trailer makes abundantly clear. This certainly represents a major change in tone from those projects but is something they both appear to be perfectly comfortable with. They are the movie.

Reeves and Ryder star as Lindsay and Frank, two single misanthropes who end up stuck together at a mutual friend's destination wedding and begrudgingly grow fond of one another - although you'd never know if from this promo.

The implication there is that yes, their characters do fall in love - or some variant of it - and we're furious with anticipation to see how that occurs. Reeves and Ryder also had roles in 2006's A Scanner Darkly from writer/director Richard Linklater and 2009's The Private Lives of Pippa Lee from writer/director Rebecca Miller.
