Maradona becomes Belarus football club chairman

Maradona hired at Belarusian club

Maradona puts Brest foot forward

Dinamo Brest said on its Twitter account that Maradona signed a three-year deal, and will take up the role after the World Cup in Russian Federation ends. Having had his contract terminated by UAE second division side Al-Fujairah, it was quickly reported - and then denied - that El Diego had been reinstated days later. Fujairah clinched a place in the top flight earlier this week by coming through a play-off with Hatta.

Dinamo, based in the south-west of Belarus, are now in eighth position in the country's Premier League.

Confirming the appointment on social media, Brest tweeted: "Yes, Diego is with us". At Dynamo Brest, he will deal with strategic development and follow the development of youth football. With him in charge the Brest-based team won the Super Cup and qualified for the final of Belarus' Cup. Details of the news conference to be released "shortly".

The 57-year-old Argentina legend signed a three-year contract on Tuesday to be the chairman of the board for Belarusian outfit Dynamo Brest, with the club confirming the move.

"Thanks for the trust".

The Argentinean will come to work with the club right after the end of the FIFA World Cup in Russian Federation. He had previously managed Al Wasl, but was dismissed in July 2012, midway through a two-year contract.
