Today is no different as the British actor has signed up for the Channel 4 drama, about Brexit and the Vote Leave campaign.

Washington D.C. [USA], May 16: Benedict Cumberbatch is all set to portray the role of the leading strategist of the Brexit campaign in a new Channel 4 drama.

Last month renowned playwright James Graham confirmed that the script has been finalised for his new TV drama about the European Union referendum campaign.

"Cummings' decision to hire data experts instead of the usual politicos, combined with a cynical understanding that it did not matter if what the campaign said was factually correct, made Vote Leave unlike any other political operation", stated a review of the tome by the FT.

Channel 4 also announced a new reality show, The Circle, a Big Brother-meets-Black Mirror format, in which contestants live separate lives in one apartment block and can only communicate via social media.

I'm so excited - not to mention a little nervous - to have this chance to try and get under the skin of what happened during that historic vote. I hope by going behind-the-scenes of the campaign, we're able to interrogate the consequences of what happened during these 8 weeks that have changed the country forever.

Written by playwright James Graham, the "timely and compelling new political thriller" will look at both sides of the campaigning and will scrutinise the many tactics employed to swing the referendum result.

Executive producers Juliette Howell and Tessa Ross said: "We are thrilled to have Benedict at the centre of James's brilliant, searching response to the Brexit vote".

Juliette Howell and Tessa Ross from House Productions commented: "We are thrilled to have Benedict at the centre of James' brilliant, searching response to the Brexit vote-James is a writer who is unafraid to ask hard questions and has never stopped looking for uncomfortable truths at this complicated time in our history".

The Brexit drama was one of several programmes unveiled for Channel 4 by the organisation's new director of programmes, Ian Katz, who described it as a "knotty, topical" drama.

Cumberbatch was vocal, before the referendum, in his opposition to Brexit.
