The answer, of course, is pizza and beer.

The pilot is now ready for expansion.

After a trial run of its beer delivery test in Phoenix, Pizza Hut said it is expanding the program to 100 locations in Arizona and California. "In addition to our extensive delivery network, many Pizza Hut restaurants are already licensed to serve and distribute beer, without third-party services, additional fees, or extended wait times".

The third-party hurdle is one that keeps many chains from even considering beer delivery.

San Diego is not on the list yet, but Pizza Hut says more California locations will be getting the program soon.

More than 1,700 of Pizza Hut's roughly 6,300 US units have liquor licenses, giving the chain a potential lead over some rivals.

The company expanded the service on Tuesday to include other Phoenix restaurants. Lash (in TGI Fridays case) then drove to a local liquor store partner, picked up the bottles, and then went to the restaurant before heading out to guests.

With easy order options including the Pizza Hut app, mobile site, and Amazon and Google devices, Pizza Hut is committed to providing an easy pizza experience - from order to delivery - and has the only loyalty program, Hut Rewards, in the us that offers points for every dollar spent on food and drinks online.

DoorDash, which delivers craft beer six-packs for BJ's Restaurants Inc in some California markets, has been offering alcohol delivery in select cities since 2016.

NBC Bay Area reported Pizza Hut will deliver the beer cold using custom coolers.

Budweiser, Bud Light, Blue Moon, Coors Light, Miller High Life and Shock Top are the only options available, with two packs ranging from $3 to $4.50 and six packs ranging from $5.99 to $10.99.

The brews are not available at every restaurant across the state - the pilot program is at participating restaurants in Los Angeles, Bakersfield, Riverside, Sacramento, Santa Barbara and Santa Clara, according to the release. Starting this month, delivery has also been added at more Arizona locations including restaurants in Tucson, Glendale, Prescott, and Winslow.

Same-store sales were up 1 percent at Pizza Hut in the first quarter.
