The first look at Crazy Rich Asians is here!
Crazy Rich Asians is set in a world of excess that many of us could never imagine, but the relationship between Nick and Rachel is so real and so human that the story becomes relatable to everyone, regardless of your economic situation.
You'll also get a glimpse of the lavish parties, outfits, and Nick's flashy sports cars in the teaser.
The teaser - released on Thursday, in anticipation of the debut of the full trailer on Monday - gives viewers a quick rundown of the plot: Rachel (Constance Wu), a Chinese-American professor, accompanies her hunky boyfriend Nick (Henry Golding) back home to his native Singapore for a friend's wedding.
Warner Bros. Pictures presents, in association with SK Global Entertainment and Starlight Culture, a Color Force/Ivanhoe Pictures/Electric Somewhere Production, a Jon M. Chu Film, "Crazy Rich Asians". Excited about visiting Asia for the first time but nervous about meeting Nick's family, Rachel is unprepared to learn that Nick has neglected to mention a few key details about his life. Watch the trailer teaser above.
In addition to Wu and Golding, other stars in the film include Michelle Yeoh ("Star Trek: Discovery"), Ken Jeong ("Dr. Ken"), Jimmy O. Yang ("Silicon Valley"), Nico Santos ("Superstore") and Harry Shum Jr. However, when Rachel and Nick arrive, Rachel soon realizes that her boyfriend is not only insane rich but is, as it's said in the trailer, "the Prince Harry of Asia". While we don't get to see too numerous characters in this first teaser, the full trailer will no doubt reveal more of the people who populate this story, particularly Nick's mother as played by Yeoh. While fans got a first look at the movie via a magazine photoshoot earlier this year, this trailer teaser is the first official footage released from the film.
