Liverpool are ready to double the current wages of youngster Trent Alexander-Arnold.
While the magnitude of his impact will likely have surprised Klopp and the Reds' hierarchy, the Telegraph's Chris Bascombe reports that they were prepared for this swift rise.
However, a clause in that most recent deal means Alexander-Arnold will now see his pay hugely elevated - with a double-money hike triggered after the player reached 30 senior appearances for the Reds.
Alexander-Arnold signed a five-year deal at Anfield in July last year.
Pep Guardiola looked to target the 19-year-old in both legs of the last-eight clash but Alexander-Arnold managed to tame Manchester City's impressive Germany global Leroy Sane.
While this remains a lofty ambition, few would doubt Alexander-Arnold is on the right trajectory, with Jamie Carragher even tipping him to surpass his tally of 737 outings for the club.
