Bruce Maxwell out for Athletics on Monday

To mark the 50th anniversary of the Athletics first season after relocating from Kansas City to Oakland, the A's and White Sox will both we wearing uniform designs based on what the clubs wore during the 1968 season. California will be airing this AL showdown and the game gets underway at 10:05 p.m. ET. The game's current runline odds stand at -170 for taking the White Sox +1.5 runs and +150 for the Athletics -1.5. The 24-year-old played in just 84 games for the Athletics last season but hit 14 home runs and recored 40 RBIs. They've lost 5.5 units for moneyline bettors and 5.4 units ATS.

Oakland has lost 9 of its last 12 Monday games and seven of Mengden's last nine home starts.

Oakland games have an over/under record of 8-6-1 so far in 2018. The over's cashed in six of those games, compared to three that went under the total.

Starter Jonathan Lucroy received an off-day yesterday, so Maxwell will head to the bench against White Sox starter Reynaldo Lopez. Lopez is 0-1 with a 0.69 ERA and 11 strikeouts.

The Athletics haven't announced their starting pitcher for Tuesday's game, but Andrew Triggs will start the series finale on Wednesday.

Oakland will start Daniel Mengden on Monday night. In his career, he has gone 0-10 with a 6.45 ERA in 13 starts here at the Coliseum and will be facing the White Sox for the first time in his career. The Athletics are averaging 4.62 runs per game this season, but allowing 5.31 per game. Mengden is now 1-2 with a 6.19 ERA for the Athletics through three starts. The Athletics were 3-5 over the eight games to fall to 6-10 on the season. The A's won five of the six meetings between these teams past year. The offense for the A's came off the bat of Jed Lowrie, who hit a two-run homer just three batters into the game.

Compared to his overall season slash line of.234/.313/.472, Chapman performed well against righties at home past year, slashing.308/.373/.598 over 118 such plate appearances. The bullpen has managed an ERA of 5.35, along with a WHIP of 1.44. The Athletics jersey, designed that season to celebrate their first in their new city, reads "OAKLAND" arched across the front in a green and gold Olde-English styled font (oh please, oh please have your coaches wearing white caps for the game).

Matt Davidson and Tim Anderson have led Chicago's offense. The A's have averaged a solid 5.50 rpg over their last 10 games, while the White Sox have put up just 2.00 rpg over their last six.
