At the end of March Razer promised that its eponymous smartphone would run Android 8.1 Oreo by the end of April. Razer says it will take about 10 days to finish the update process, so if you don't receive the update today, keep an eye out over the coming days. Don't forget the backpacks - they've got backpacks too.
The full Android 8.1 roll out will be taking place over the next few weeks, so some territories will be able to download it ahead of others. This device was revealed in November of 2017 and it's been on the market since December.
The OS update brings along a cleaner visual design, improvements to the Dolby Atmos app and support for the Netflix widget. Best Buy joins Razer.com, Amazon, and Microsoft Stores in carrying the handset. Also in the mix: system improvements, bug fixes, and a Nova Launcher update. The phone will be available in retail stores soon, and it's available online right now with Chrome or Green accents at the same $699 price.
