Reliance Jio effect: Airtel introduces postpaid plan for Rs 499; offers 40GB data, unlimited calls

Airtel's New Plan Offers Unlimited Voice Calls and 40GB Data at Rs. 499

Reliance Jio has launched a brand new JioFi 4G LTE hotspot device called the JioFi JMR815 in India. The new model is not yet listed on Jio.com, and we've reached out to the company for a clarification on its plans with the 4G dongle. To enable customers easy access for their products, RJio has made sure they are available on their stores or app, apart from this, even e-commerce portal like Flipkart has RJio products.

Ever since Reliance Jio's groundbreaking entry towards approaching the ultra-affordable recharges, telecom giants have reportedly been going low by their sales figure.

Jio says this new JioFi device supports download speeds up to 150 Mbps and upload speeds up to 50 Mbps. The new wireless hotspot is the smallest and the cheapest of all but boasts similar capabilities as the other JioFi dongles. This means the JioFi JMR815 device is designed and manufactured locally in India. Interestingly, customers were also provided with the same JioFi device at Rs. 999, without the free data and voucher benefits.

The new model has been named as JioFi JMR815 and it comes with one-year warranty. The data benefit in the Jio plan is more but there is a daily usage limit. The new variant has a neat circular shape, while the older one had a more egg-shaped look. The gadget can also associate three people at the same time on a video call and works consistently over each of the 2G/3G/4G Wi-Fi empowered devices.

As far as features go, the JioFi JMR815 comes with physical on/off and WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) buttons.

The box will include the data card, adapter, USB Cable and battery. The device allows 32 users to connect to a high-speed data network, including 31 on Wi-Fi and one on USB. With ALT3800 processor at its core, the new JioFi supports FDD-Band 3, Band 5, and TDD-Band 40. The new model, JioFi JMR815, is available with no cost EMI scheme with HDFC Bank debit or credit card, and at a 5 percent discount on Axis Bank Buzz credit card. The device is powered by a 3000mAh battery, which is touted to have a charging time of 3.5 hours.
