If you're a Marvel fan who's excited for what Disney's Imagineers can do with those characters, you'll have to make way to California, France or Hong Kong to experience it.
Developed in partnership with Marvel Studios and Marvel Themed Entertainment, these three new areas will champion the next generation of superheroes, representing just one of the ways Disney continues to bring immersive worlds to life for guests around the globe.
Today Disney confirmed what has always been rumored: It'll be building a new area themed to Marvel superheroes at Disney California Adventure in Anaheim.
In the video above, they invite guests to become part of a bigger universe that will be filled with the heroes and adventures that have been seen on the big screen. California Adventure already is the home of the "Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT!" attraction.
The updates to the other parks seem a little more substantial, with an Iron Man and The Avengers ride coming to a new Marvel-themed area in Disneyland Paris in 2020, and an Ant-Man and The Wasp attraction headed to Hong Kong Disneyland. It looks like we can maybe expect rides based on Spider-Man and the Avengers. This new land will be anchored by the popular Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT!, in the adjacent space that is now occupied by "a bug's land". The 3-D film experience "It's Tough to Be a Bug" shuttered on Monday, with the rest of the area expected to follow suit later this summer. The park will also launch a "Summer of Super Heroes" live-action show from June 10 to September 30. Therefore, there can't be a Marvel-themed area at Disney World.
Hong Kong Disneyland has already started its Marvel-themed expansion plans, which will include a new attraction where riders can team with Ant-Man and The Wasp.
