That's right, Nicolas Cage has finally fulfilled his dream of playing Clark Kent and his heroic alter-ego.
The 2013 animated TV series is a follow-up to the popular Teen Titans that follows the ordinary lives of some of DC's favorite superheroes such as Robin, Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy and Cyborg that are constantly caught up in a string of comical situations.
Nick Cage will be voicing the Man Of Steel in the new TEEN TITANS GO! movie. Existing in the same continuity as their insane yet still active show on Cartoon Network, the Teen Titans find out that other DC superheroes seem to have films produced, so they seek out the ideal director for their debut on the big screen, but an old enemy has other ideas planned for them.
Superman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern are only side characters in the Teen Titans Go! movie. But now the man who named his son Kal-El (really), or his voice at least, will be able to bring an offbeat yet still heroic presence to the role.
Nicolas Cage is a HUGE fan of Superman.
These days, celebrities are picked seemingly willy-nilly to voice cartoons, so it's refreshing to hear that this choice goes well beyond Cage's star status and hinges more on his love of the character.
"Teen Titans GO! to the Movies" finds our egocentric, wildly satirical Super Heroes in their first feature film extravaganza-a fresh, gleefully clever, kid-appropriately crass and tongue-in-cheek play on the superhero genre, complete with musical numbers. If only they could get the hottest Hollywood film director to notice them. The team finds their friendship and their fighting spirit failing, putting the very fate of the Teen Titans themselves on the line! Aaron Horvath and Peter Rida Michail are co-directing from a screenplay co-written by Michael Jelenic. Pictures, a Warner Bros.
