The affidavit describes a tangled, hateful criminal enterprise in which the four men from a rural part of IL, more than 500 miles from Bloomington, Minn., hoarded high-powered guns, made bombs and committed robberies at a drug dealer's house and three Wal-Mart Stores. The three connected to the bombings and a fourth IL man were arrested on Tuesday morning and charged with possession of a machine gun.

Charging documents allege the four men possessed assault rifles from October 2017 to March 2018.

Hari, McWhorter, and Morris face federal charges in for the bombing at the Dar Al-Farooq Islamic Center as people were getting ready for prayer. No one at the Minnesota mosque was injured, but the building sustained minor damage.

"That bombing that took place last summer has been a tragedy for all Minnesotans", said Greg Brooker, acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Minnesota. Hari was arrested as he was traveling to a court appearance in Ford County on unrelated assault charges.

According to a 16-page probable cause statement filed in U.S. District Court in Urbana, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives received a tip February 19 about potential bomb-making materials at the home of Hari's parents in Clarence.

Charges also state that, when drinking one night with Morris and McWhorter, a source said Morris began talking about throwing a black powder pipe bomb at a mosque in Minnesota.

McWhorter originally denied having any knowledge of the mosque bombing, but according to the complaint, he later admitted to it, stating he, Hari and Morris drove to Minnesota in a rented vehicle.

A complaint said a tip in December led authorities to investigate the three men, after a person sent the local sheriff photos of guns and bomb-making material inside Hari's parents' home, where Hari often stayed.

Hussein and other leaders agree one question remains.

The targeted mosque mainly services Somalians.

Mohamed Omar, the centre's executive director, said at the time that the mosque didn't receive any threats beforehand or claims of responsibility afterward.

"The mosque here in Bloomington has several neighbors creating and engaging this anti-Muslim kind of language and sharing it, online, to every single anti-Muslim group in the country", said Hussein.

Federal authorities in Minnesota say the investigation is ongoing, but they believe there is no further threat to the community.

"The President's failure to condemn the terrorist attack on the Bloomington Islamic Center is an outrage", Ellison, the deputy chairman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), said, according to Bloomberg News.

Asad Zaman, executive director of the Muslim American Society of Minnesota, called on Minnesotans to call out anti-Muslim sentiments within the community. According to the affidavit, law enforcement agents have gathered evidence to indicate that Hari, McWhorter and Morris were responsible for the Bloomington bombing and the attempted bombing of the Women's Health Practice, an abortion clinic, in Champaign on November 7.
