In Jehanabad, RJD's Suday Yadav, son of deceased MLA Mundrika Singh Yadav is ahead of his rival from JD (U) Abhiram Sharma, according to latest trends.
Meanwhile, RJD supporters have made a long queue in Araria while shouting slogans in favour of party leader Tejaswi Yadav and winning candidate Sarfaraj Alam. Araria went to polling on Sunday (March 11) along with two Assembly seats of Jehanabad and Bhabua. Counting of votes for the Gorakhpur and Phulpur Lok Sabha assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh and Araria, Jehanabad and Bhabhua bye-elections results in Bihar is underway. Dynamic security arrangements have been made for counting of votes.

New electoral experiments before the crucial 2019 general elections will be put to test on Wednesday when the Lok Sabha bypolls results of Gorakhpur, Phulpur in Uttar Pradesh and Araria in Bihar will be announced. They came together again past year. Both, Araria Lok Sabha seat and Jehanabad Assembly seat were held by RJD. Bypolls were necessited following the demise of legislator Anand Bhushan Pandey.
There is direct contest between Taslimuddin's son and RJD candidate Sarafaraz Alam and BJP's Pradip Singh, who had won the seat in 2009 - when BJP and JD (U) were in alliance - and finished runner-up in 2014.
In Jehanabad, the RJD is squared against the JD (U).
After 21 rounds of counting, Rinki Rani Pandey of BJP has bagged 58,701 votes whereas Shambhu Singh Patel of the Congress is at second place with 14,093 votes.
