PUBG gets friend lists, emotes, and achievements

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) Xbox One update brings various bug fixes

PUBG PC Update 7: New patch notes revealed ahead of server maintenance downtime

Official patch notes for the latest PUBG build have been released by the support team, and confirm that a range of new emotes, among other features, have been released.

There are twelve default emotes available, and there are more on the way. Holding the emote menu button, which is defaulted to the tilde key (~) will allow you to pick the emote you wish to use.

Not only can you find the usual bug fixes and gameplay tweaks, there are some major additions such as emotes, a friends list, and Steam achievements. Independent of Steam friends lists, the PUBG friends list "is a one-way follower concept, not a mutual acceptance between players". Do you think they chose the right approach? There's also 37 new PUBG-specific achievements to aim for. Good luck maintaining that friends list after your first celebratory post-kill boogie.

In addition, you will be able to speak to your team during the main menu screen and actually see who is speaking, as a little speaker icon will appear beside their name.

The PUBG team also explained that alterations to limb and vehicle penetration have been delayed: "Unfortunately, there's been an adjustment in our plans, but we will be sure to give an update on this at a later time". This will allow players to communicate without speech and with animations only.

"As you are all aware, we were also going to introduce and test our new limb and vehicle penetration system this month".

Scopes have been slightly changed too, with an expanded field of view, and a parallax effect when moving the weapon quickly.

PUBG had a bit of a rough weekend after the introduction of an anti-cheating update. For that reason the developers Bluehole chose to roll back the update, in order to fix those issues.
