Big Little Lies' Nicole Kidman And David E Kelley Reunite For The Undoing

The show is based on Jean Hanff Korelitz's novel "You Should Have Known" and follows the story of therapist Grace Sachs, whose world is rocked by a shock death and her husband going missing. But then it all appears to go wrong: there's a violent death, her husband goes missing, and she starts discovering all sorts of awful things about him.

The Big Little Lies Emmy victor has signed on to star in the HBO limited series The Undoing, which will reunite her with writer David E. Kelley, TVLine has learned.

Moreover, HBO programming president Casey Bloys said, "We're thrilled to continue our creative relationships with both Nicole and David". The adaptation was written by David E. Kelley.

Kelley will executive produce The Undoing through David E. Kelley Productions and will serve as the showrunner. Bruna Papandrea is tied as executive producer as well. Kidman will exec produce via her Blossom Films banner, with the company's Per Saari also attached. Left to pick up the pieces after the "very public disaster", Grace "must dismantle one life and create another for her child and herself" - and face the horror she feels in knowing she failed to heed her own warnings.

For HBO, The Undoing joins a roster of drama originals that also includes Game of Thrones, Westworld, The New Pope, J.J.

Whilst Kelley added: "I loved this book".

Kidman won an Emmy for her performance in Big Little Lies. Abrams' Demimonde, Jordan Peele's Lovecraft Country, True Detective, Sharp Objects, The Deuce and Here and Now, among others.
