The driver of the auto rickshaw received head injuries while the passenger received minor injuries.

Update: The injured passenger and driver were identified as Surekha Shivekar (32) and Rajkumar Palekar (64) respectively.

Aditya, son of celebrated singer Udit Narayan, took the injured to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital for treatment, the official added. (Web desk) - Famous Bollywood singer and actor Aditya Naran has been detained by the police for allegedly bumping his vehicle into a rickshaw while causing injuries to the driver at the same time.

Singer Aditya Narayan was arrested by police on Monday for rash and negligent driving.

Based on the statement given by complainant Shivekar, the police have booked Aditya under Sections of IPC for rash driving (279), causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others (338) as well as under the provision of Motor Vehicle Act for risky driving.

A senior police officer from Versova police station gave more details about the accident, "Today, an accident happened in front of the Indralok Building, Lokhandwala Back Road, Andheri West, Mumbai between Auto Rickshaw No.MH 02 DU 9827 and Motorcar Mercedes Benz No. MH 14 FZ 6000". Investigators are also scrutinising CCTV footage from the accident site. At the time of going to press, Aditya was at Versova police station. However, he later got released by the police. The episode had taken place when Narayan, travelling on Raipur-Mumbai IndiGo flight 6E-258, used "unparliamentary language" with a female staff member of the airline. A video of him screaming at airport authorities went viral as well.
