Apple will unveil the next generation of iOS and MacOS on June 4th

Apple's WWDC 2018 kicks off June 4

It's official! Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) will be kicked off on 4 June.

iOS 12 and macOS. together at last? Both have been well discussed in the rumour mill with reports originating from Bloomberg about a merger of iOS and macOS apps on the macOS side, and a focus on stability on the iOS side. If your name is pulled out of the hat, the credit card associated with your Apple ID will be charged $1,599 United States dollars, or the equivalent in local currency for those not living in the U.S.

This year's show, running through June 8th, will take place at the McEnery Convention Center.

Apple has reportedly shelved many exciting features intended for iOS 12, including a home screen redesign and several app tweaks. Improvements to Siri are also reportedly in the works, but when are they not?

Occasionally the company also uses the event to announce hardware products. Cook has personally touted the growth potential of augmented reality, so it's likely that Apple's plans for AR will remain on the agenda for WWDC 2018.

But even those announcements were geared toward an audience of developers.
