"During their visit, the two leaders [Nursultan Nazarbayev and Donald Trump] celebrated two separate deals between Boeing and Kazakh airlines totaling over $1.3 billion, sustaining an estimated 7,100 direct and indirect United States jobs", the White House statement reads. In return, Nazarbayev thanked Trump and added that he was confident that his visit to the United States would improve the US-Kazakhstan relations.
"I greatly appreciate the president's personal assurances that Kazakhstan will continue to provide critical logistical support and access for our troops fighting ISIS and the Taliban where we have made tremendous strides", he said.
As Kazakhstan holds the rotating presidency on the United Nations Security Council this month, the USA government said it will continue to discuss worldwide challenges with Kazakhstan during its tenure.
"Today we'll take part in the round-table meeting with the huge American businessmen and will sign more than 20 contracts totaling $7.5 billion", Nazarbayev said.
In particular, SCAT Airlines ordered six Boeing-737 MAX 8 aircraft.
Moreover, its national airline carrier Air Astana announced it would purchase three Boeing 787 Dreamliners, which are scheduled for delivery in 2021.
The two nations also signed contracts on collaboration in areas such as digital infrastructure, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, education, finance, space exploration and healthcare.
Trump, during a joint press conference also thanked his counterpart from Kazakhstan for visiting the US and strengthening the US-Kazakhstan relations.
