In addition to being offered in the same Highland Green color as the original vehicle driven by Steve McQueen in the movie, the latest iteration will have a pumped-up version of the standard GT's 5.0-liter V8, which will make at least 475 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. That jumper vehicle resurfaced in Baja, Calif., in early 2017-but the other was lost to history, according to Ford.

Sean Kiernan, owner of the hero vehicle, inherited the auto in 2014 from his late father, Robert, who had purchased the vehicle in 1974.

This has led to Ford building Bullitt Mustangs in the past and that time has come again in order to properly celebrate the movie's 50th anniversary. It doesn't need to scream about anything - it's just cool'. The original Mustang from the movie also shared the stage with the new reincarnation.

Two 1968 Mustang GT fastbacks were used in the film.

The Bullitt Mustang comes with a unique black front grille.

It features some modifications for its 5.0-liter V8 engine, including an Open Air induction, 87 mm throttle bodies and a Shelby GT350 intake manifold.

The badge that was once adored by many on a handsome vintage Mustang will now be represented in an entirely different ways.

It will only be offered in two colours, Dark Highland Green - the same as the original Bullitt Mustang - and a Shadow Black, and features a host of unique exterior modifications inspired by the original movie auto, including five-spoke dark grey alloy wheels, the deletion of the pony badge in the exclusive front grille and chrome highlights around the window surrounds. But as nice and desirable the 2019 Bullitt may be, chances are more eyes will be on the 1968 original model, which has recently been found and is now on display in Detroit alongside its modern interpretation.

The Bullitt gets an active valve performance exhaust and has been tuned to recreate a burble more reminiscent of the 1960s era.

The Dearborn, Michigan-based automaker wheeled the Bullitt edition Mustang out during its Sunday afternoon, January 14 North American International Auto Show press conference at the Cobo Center in Downtown Detroit.

Inside, the Bullit can be had with a Bullit Electronics Package which adds navigation, memory seats and an upgraded sound system. MagneRide semi-active suspension and Recaro black leather-trimmed sport buckets are also available. "Inside and out, the vehicle uses minimal badging; only the circular faux gas cap Bullitt logo on the rear center is visible on the exterior".
